HOW WE KILL OUR DREAMS AND BECOME STUCK.
We all had dreams one time as children. I mean we still do but it's more common for young tiny feet to dream of being almost anything even if it might turn out to be impossible (Like me dreaming one time I was 6 years old of being a princess in England when I grow up. Well this idea came up after watching Cinderella and I assure you that if the prince comes right now to ask for my hand, I will definitely turn him down. I am not in anyway interested in any royal life as an adult). Children have amazing imaginations and are really creative in their thinking. This surely is what makes them fast thinkers and also serious dream chasers. I mean, they do everything they can to achieve their dreams at a young age even if it involved making a fake crown and pretending to be the princess of the household. (Do not look at me like that).
As we grow up, we become more mature. We learn more about life and realize that there are some certain expectations we expected as young kids we can never actually get fulfilled (Like the Princess aspect for example). You begin to mix up with friends or go with the trend and begin to research on courses you can study in college or skills you can learn to help you earn money fast. This is where our talent seems to be buried in the sand at a point and our pursue for ambitions we have no passion for begins.
However though, here are decisions we take that ruin our dreams or kill our talent. (Anyhow you can put it).
1) YOU LOOK AT OTHERS AND FORGET TO FOCUS ON YOURSELF: Because you feel the world has changed and wish to go with the trend, you copy the skills your friend chooses to learn or acquire because you wish to make money out of it. It is not bad to learn something. It is never wrong to learn a new skill but doing this skill because of the money and not because of your passion or your adamant persuasive decision of pursuing it can actually not let you feel comfortable with this decision. You might be earning the amount of money you have always wanted to earn after a pretty long time but then the job might turn out to stress you so much or make you feel really bored about it. It might drain you so much. You feel out of place doing it, infact you might end up realizing you don't even belong in that field. According to research, giving your brian mental stress or causing your self any form chronic harm can cause you to age really quickly. Doing a job you love or pursing your talent will save you half of the stress you might feel when doing a job you hate so much or trying to compromise.
2) YOU THINK DREAMS ARE FOR THE WEAK: As one who isn't a child anymore and has faced so many experiences in this life, you decide dreams are for the weak because they make no sense. You know what, I feel people view dreams in different perspectives. It depends on what your vision of a dream is. There is one thing to dream at night and decide "Yeah, that surely is a dream I had there. Hehe". There is another thing to have a day dream of whatever isn't real (perhaps of you kissing your crush) which distracts you from concentrating on what's actually happening in the real world and getting people to think you are insane. There is another one again which deals with you having a clear vision of what you plan your future will be in the next 5 to 10 years to come. You've imagined yourself in that expensive suit, seating in your office and admiring your trophies. You know what you want to be and you know why you want to be this. But just imagining how your effort will pay off in the nearest future isn't enough, having a plan, a schedule, a list of what you wanna do to achieve this goal of yours is very very important. You should know how you want to get to that CEO position. Sitting at home imagining just being in the position in your head isn't going to get you there unfortunately. Dreaming motivates to work hard toward that goal of yours but putting your talent at work and making use of your efforts and skills in reaching that position you have always wanted to reach, gets it to pay off.
3) YOU ARE DISCOURAGED BY LACK OF FACILITIES OR CONDITIONS TO GET YOU GOING: When you have a goal to achieve, you plan it and work toward achieving it. Unfortunately, things gets to a halt when you realize you don't have the necessary facilities or you aren't in the good condition to achieve this dream of yours. (I am not in England unfortunately). You might want to be a graphic designer but have no laptop to practice on or might wish to be an actress but come from a poor family and cannot afford to pay for the academy or study in the university. This shortcomings can discourage one from actually pursuing their dreams but who told it actually concludes the end of your goal. If you really really want to achieve this dream of yours (Not my princess dream please), find ways to work hard and enable yourself get past this challenges. If you have no laptop and know no one to get you a laptop, learn a skill and acquire a job for the purpose of getting a laptop for this. This skill or money isn't for just earning money fast for fun or getting a full time job, it's solemnly for saving up money to pursue your desired dream. The same can be said about anyone who wishes to go to college. Find a way to acquire a scholarship or save up for your college. Find a family member who can support you and never forget to make use of your talent too. If you can sing well, go for singing competitions, if you are very good at painting, paint something amazing and get people to buy it, if you are good at writing write a novel or something life changing that people will sort out for. Do not be discouraged by all this challenges we face. It isn't the challenges that stop us, it is us ourselves when we agree to be discouraged.
In conclusion to this, please do not ever be discouraged from pursuing your passion or dreams because you feel it's impossible to achieve. Some might not be possible but there are some that are deep down in there that really wishes to become real but unfortunately you stop yourself, limit yourself, discourage yourself because you have convinced yourself it's impossible. You have concluded that you can't achieve it. Well, you are the one playing game and ones you end the game, the game ends with you. No one is gonna continue it for you because every other person has his or her own game to play too.
